Pardon a new user's ignorance: in what format are the data stored, and
would it be possible to do automatic periodic backups? (Considering last
September's problems as well...)

I'd be happy to (a) do backups via rsync/ssh and (b) host a clone of
grubstreet if there's interest.

After all, my deathless guide to London's airports (written yesterday)
deserves to be available to all! :-)
