Clapton is the poor cousin of Hackney and Stoke Newington; it's to the north of the former and the east of the latter, sitting on the River Lea just over from Walthamstow. It has a pub, a million corner shops and fast-food joints, and not a lot else. Clapton's only claim to fame is that it is home to the Murder Mile.

Nobody has ever heard of Clapton. This is probably for the best.

Like its neighbouring areas, Clapton isn't on the tube network, but has a surface rail station, which is served by occasional WAGN trains; these take about 10 minutes to get to Liverpool Street Station (stopping at Hackney Downs Station and Bethnal Green Station en route), which is pretty convenient.
