Upminster is served by the District Line services on the Tube network (of which it is the eastern terminus, in Zone 6) and also by c2c, and one train services. If travelling to Central London from Upminster the c2c service is substancially faster than the tube. Tube tickets including Oyster and Prepay are valid for use on c2c services. There is a train every 10 minutes calling at Barking, West Ham & Fenchurch Street (for Tower Hill) most of the day Monday-Saturday.

The next tube station to the west of Upminster is Upminster Bridge. On the c2c route the next station is Barking and on the one route Upminster is the eastern terminus of a branch line from Romford and the next station along is Emerson Park.
History
The station was opened in 1885 by the London Tilbury & Southend Railway. The electrified District Line service reached Upminster in 1932. In 2002 there were over 3.4 million entries and exits of the station. It is managed by c2c (Source: Transport for London).
