The Truman, Buxton and Hanbury Brewery is situated in Spitalfields, very near the market. It was built in the first half of the 20th century (? guesswork, but matches with the concrete/brick style- blech), closed in the late 1980s (? seems to fit, but not entirely sure- blech), and was sold for a redevelopment that fell foul of the early '90s recession. Slowly design and (latterly) internet companies colonised it, and it's now something of an attraction in its own right, with shops like Eat My Handbag, Bitch and the Scooter Emporium, and venues like the Vibe Bar, E1 6QL and 93 Feet East, E1 6QL.
