A South Indian vegetarian restaurant located half-way along King Street. The food is extremely good and far from extortionate - two courses plus a soft drink should set you back little more than a tenner. Not surprisingly in a vegetarian restaurant, there is no non-vegetarian option, but some of the dishes contain cheese. We went randomly on a Saturday night and had no problems getting a table. Takeaway is available. I'm pretty sure that most of the stuff on the menu was vegan, but I didn't check specifically.
The decor is modern, with lots of pine. Staff are friendly and attentive. Toilets are downstairs and hence not very accessible to the disabled, but the rest of the restaurant is on a single level.
I can't remember the smoking policy, but there wasn't any smoke when we visited.
The Thalis are recommended for hungry people. Muttar Paneer (aka "Cheesy Peas") with garlic rice was delicious; Saag Aloo likewise, and it had little in common with the dish of that name found in more average Indian restaurants. (I couldn't spot any saag, for starters...) Mango Lassi was a little under-Mangoed. All dishes were spiced normally, except the yoghurt sambal that came with the papads, which was unusually spicy. Mere naans are unavailable; the paratha constitute a highly-recommended alternative.
All in all, this restaurant is strongly recommended to all those who fancy a curry in Hammersmith and can cope without meat.
