Historical version 4 of Locale Clapton (view current version)
Nobody has ever heard of Clapton. This is probably for the best.
Clapton is the poor cousin of Hackney and Stoke Newington; it's to the north of the former and the east of the latter, sitting on the River Lea just over from Walthamstow. It has a [pub]?, a million corner shops and fast-food joints, and not a lot else. Clapton's only claim to fame is that it is home to the [Murder Mile]?.
Like its neighbouring areas, Clapton isn't on the tube network, but has a [surface rail station]?, which is served by [West Anglia Line (Chingford Branch)]? trains which WAGN occasionally sees fit to provide; these take about 10 minutes to get to Liverpool Street Station (stopping at [Hackney Downs Station]? and Bethnal Green Rail Station en route), which is pretty convenient.
