The Open Guide to London: the free London guide - Differences between Version 2 and Version 1 of Lewisham Station

Version 2 Version 1
== Line 54 ==
==== Where to get on/off ====
The exits for the surface railway are all at the London end of the platforms; so, on trains towards London, it's best to be in the front few carriages and for trains from London, it's best to be as near the back as possible.
== Line 57 ==
DLR trains: if intending to change to a bus, the front of the train is the best place to be. But DLR trains are so small, there's not much in it.

A station on the Docklands Light Railway and on South Eastern Trains.

Docklands Light Railway: North towards Canary Wharf <--- Elverson Road <--- Lewisham ----&rt; terminates
South Eastern Trains: North West towards London Bridge <--- New Cross <--- Lewisham ----&rt; Hither Green ----&rt; Dartford via Bexley
<---     ----> Blackheath ----> Gillingham (Kent) via Woolwich & Dartford
<--- St. Johns <--- ----> Ladywell ----> Hayes (Kent)
West towards Victoria <--- Nunhead <--- ----> Blackheath ----> Dartford via Bexleyheath

The end of the DLR Lewisham extension is a partially submerged station near Lewisham's shopping centre. There is a stairway connection to the South Eastern Trains station.

Trains on South Eastern run very frequently into London Bridge, and then either Cannon Street or Charing Cross via Waterloo. It is generally faster to catch a South Eastern train than to catch the DLR and then tube. If you can, it's worth checking your journey before entering the station on your phone at www.tflwap.gov.uk.
