Leon's is a chain of 4 restaurant's in Central London: Spitalfields, Carnaby Street, Knightsbridge and Ludgate Circus. Address and contact details are on their website.

This is a review of the Spitalfields branch. The others could do with reviewing.

The restaurant is housed in the new part of the market, alongside a branch of Giraffe and Canteen. There is indoor seating, and outdoor, under cover seating.

The food is ordered canteen style; you queue up at one counter and pay, and are allocated a number. You collect your food from another counter when your number is called out. Service is generally fast and friendly. The food is given to you in a parcel, which you can take away as an alternative to eating in.

The food is a mixture of North African and Mediterranean, with much use of raw foods and seeds. While there is some meat and fish on offer, there are more vegan dishes on the menu than those with meat and fish (lunch time menu) - all quite healthy really. They are big on "superfoods", with a good range of juices and smoothies.

I've only been at lunch time, so I can't judge what their evening menu is like. I would not describe the portion sizes as large, but certainly as adequate and satisfying.

My verdict: this would be a good place to meet someone for a first date. --IvorW
