#REDIRECT [[Locale Forest Gate]]
Forest Gate is a busy, multi-ethnic district in the east of London. It lies between [[Stratford]] to the west and [[Ilford]] to the east. To the north lies [[Wanstead]] and to the south, [[East Ham]].

The area - rather literally - takes its name from the gate into Epping
Forest that used to be located on what is now Woodgrange Road. [[Epping Forest]] still borders the area, in an area of parkland known as [[Wanstead Flats]].

The area has good public transport links, most notably [[Forest
Gate Station]], which provides easy access to the [[City of London]].

Information about the area can be found at [http://www.forestgate.com ForestGate.com].
