Note that the official Centre of London (as defined by Royal Mail), is not Centre Point, but [[Charing Cross]]. This has been so since long before Centre Point was built. It was built from 1963-1966, has 35 floors and is 117 metres high. The architect was Richard Seifert. In 1995 it was made a listed building (grade II). It is currently occupied by the Confederation of British Industry. * [http://www.urban75.org/london/centrepoint.html Urban 75's article on Centre Point] |
