>If we were to say 'No self-promoting' then there's more of a possibility >that it will be done by stealth - This becomes a philosophical question, of course. We've said, in effect, "everyone is welcome to put in reviews"; do we want to change to "everyone but the owner"? How about the owner's friends? I sometimes chat with the staff at Misato; does that mean I should declare an interest? Yes, that's an obviously silly example, but you see the problem. The piece in question is clearly not a review; as such I don't think it has a place on GS. If someone posted "this company is great, always delivers on time, etc.", then that could be treated just as any other anonymous review gets treated; it doesn't matter at that point whether it's self-promotion or genuine. I'd like to see a culture of people signing their reviews; but given that (e.g.) my text can be completely changed, I don't feel particularly comfortable putting my name to it... I suspect I'm just too paranoid for the world of Wiki. :-) "The issue's not whether you're paranoid... The issue is whether you're paranoid _enough_."
