Walthamstow Market, with 450 stalls taking the length of [Walthamstow High Street]?, is one of the longest street markets in Europe. It certainly claims to be the longest.
On sale are fruit & veg, clothing, electronics, music, household goods and general bric-a-brac.
In close proximity is [Selbourne Walk Shopping Centre]?. However in mid 2004 part of the shopping centre was damaged by fire and the whole building was closed.
I believe that Walthamstow Market was used as a model for Eastenders' Walford Market. --IvorW
