Queen's Market is about half food, half trinkets and clothes. This is where I get cheap fresh eggs, weird hot sauces that my hot sauce connoisseur friends haven't heard of, silk scarves and shawls, Thai fish sauce, fresh vegetables, yams, goat-meat, Pearl River Bridge soy sauce (three varieties), very cheap cleaning supplies... you get the idea. There's a row of small shops down each side of the market proper, some of which are open for longer hours than the market itself. There's also Green Street immediately outside.

There's not much in the "eat immediately" category here, though there is a cafe off to one side and the usual takeaways nearby; this is a working people's market, and mostly sells food to be prepared later. You can get cheap soft drinks and crisps, but mostly in bulk.

Although most of the butchers will sell goat meat, they don't label it as such. Look for "lamb" with unusually long bones. Goat is excellent in curries and stews.
