The Open Guide to London: the free London guide - Differences between Version 6 and Version 5 of Pride Of Spitalfields, E1 5LJ

Contents are identical

The Pride of Spitalfields was partially burnt down on the night of June 17th, 2003 when a pair of customers were attacked with petrol bombs as they were leaving - see this BBC News story. I went there to take a look on the next day, and the entrance to the pub was completely scorched and blackened. I don't think the damage went back too far inside, though. -- Earle

I'm not entirely sure why everyone likes this pub so much. It'd be great if only they'd turn the bloody music off. It's tiny and popular, so there's plenty of atmosphere; it doesn't need loud background music. Gets crowded, but it's a good kind of crowded. I just wish I could hear what the person next to me is saying. --Kake

(Come on, someone write a good review to balance this out. I know there are enough of you out there that love the place :) )

Oh OK then. The beer's really really good, and at sensible prices.
