'''The Pride of Spitalfields was partially burnt down on the night of June 17th, 2003''' when a pair of customers were attacked with petrol bombs as they were leaving - see [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/3001364.stm this BBC News story]. I went there to take a look on the next day, and the entrance to the pub was completely scorched and blackened. I don't think the damage went back too far inside, though. -- [[Earle]]

I'm not entirely sure why everyone likes this pub so much. It'd be great if only they'd turn the bloody music off. It's tiny and popular, so there's plenty of atmosphere; it doesn't need loud background music. Gets crowded, but it's a good kind of crowded. I just wish I could hear what the person next to me is saying. --Kake

(Come on, someone write a good review to balance this out. I know there are enough of you out there that love the place :) )
