The pub's website claims seven real ales on tap, albeit entirely session bitters from big-name brewers. The night we visted they only had six, however, and they naughtily didn't turn the clips around to indicate offness. They were all reasonably kept, however.

The food selection is large and reasonably priced; served all day. Your reviewer tried the bangers and mash, which was excellent and a mere 4.50 (October 2004 price) - bangers, mash and gravy were all top quality, although the addition of a generous sprinkling of raw onion was a little surprising.

If they built a pub like this next to every railway station, the world would be a better place.
