From the outside the Pollo Bar looks like a dodgy caff (not that there's anything wrong with dodgy caffs) and, with Ed's Diner just opposite, you'd probably be tempted to go there for lunch instead.

In reality Pollo's is one of those little gems you always hope to find. It's astoundingly cheap - the majority of the huge, tasty main courses are below 5 pounds - the staff are friendly and the service fast and excellent.

The pizzas are, apparently, not as good value as the pasta dishes although I've never actually tried one. The pasta however is lovely, arriving in generous portions and tasting fantastic. There's the usual rustic Italian Restaurant offerings and a fair selection of vegetarian foods as well as items like baked potatos and omlettes (including a very tasty Spanish omlette)
