Pix4 is a multimedia store based at the West 12 centre. The shop provides photographic, mobile phones, internet and other ICT related products and services.

The store has 30 internet access machines on high speed broadband with access to multimedia software, such as Adobe PhotoShop and Microsoft Office Professional, and the use of scanning, printing, and CD/DVD burning facilities. There are also 10 LAN / WAN gaming PCs which provide access to single/multiplayer games. The store also provides web hosting packages specific to students of multimedia as well as a photo studio hire for professionals and amateurs.

Most of this is not obvious when you enter the shop - its only after I got into a conversation with Steve, the manager, that I discovered what the store had on offer. He also showed me their state of the art digital mini-lab which was hidden away from view but which is linked directly to 5 digital photo kiosks on the shop floor.

They provide so many services but they lack the expertise in promoting them. This place is the digital photographers heaven. [jo_curtis]

I guess somebody had to put together a photo print shop and an internet cafe on the same premises. The ground floor has the photographic shop with plenty of frames available, and the usual chemical smell.

Going downstairs to the basement leads to a desk facing two rooms, one having 20 or so Windows internet PCs the other has half a dozen games machines with large screens.

I don't have much need to go in internet cafes these days, so perhaps someone else could review this place. --IvorW
