Upminster is a place in the London Borough of Havering. The area developed rapidly in the early 1900s with the coming of the railway as an archetypal garden suburb.

Upminster is famous for Upminster Windmill, one of the few remaining windmills in Greater London. Locally, the windmill is an icon for the town although the town is known more widely for being the eastern terminus of the District Line.

The high street has an average collection of shops and there are quite a few reasonable pubs. The area's real strength is its good selection of restaurants.
