The Strand is a long street leading from Trafalgar Square in the west roughly along the line of the river to Fleet Street. Somerset House is possibly the main building of interest along its route, together with the Savoy Hotel. It's also home to the former Aldwych Station.

You can walk from Somerset House to Charing Cross station and pass about a dozen coffee bars and the same amount of mobile phone shops, if that's your thing.
