Blackheath is a well-to-do neighbourhood just south of the elegant [[Greenwich Park]] on the [[A2]] road in southeast London. Its town centre is now dominated by bars and restaurants and the Blackheath Halls provide a range of quality entertainments including films and music of many different types. It has historic associations with the Suffragette movement and is now associated with a kite festival, a major fireworks display and the start of the [[London Marathon]]. Most of the grand villas in Blackheath are now subdivided into flats or adapted as office space for various professionals.
