Situated just opposite Spitalfields Market, the Golden Heart is also near the old Truman Brewery, on the corner of [Hanbury Street]? and [Commercial Street]?, in the heart of Jack the Ripper's stomping grounds.
Like the nearby Pride, the clientele is an odd mix of locals (generally quite old), younger art/new media people, and people from the City; the landlady is characterful; the pub is small, crowded and serves proper beer; and there's a little room outside for overspill.
Apparently the haunt of Tracey Emin, but I've never seen her there myself - blech
