Forbidden Planet ("FP", or "Forboding Prices" as it is affectionately known) is a chain of science fiction and fantasy shops in England. There are separate shops with the same branding but different ownership in Scotland, Dublin, and (I think) New York.

It was at one time the best place to find science fiction books in London (being on New Oxford Street, near to Tottenham Court Road Tube Station). However times have changed and it is largely taken up by videos and collectable toys.

It is however worth a visit if you like science fiction.

It holds frequent book signing events many of which are listed by http://news.DiverseBooks.com/events/
