The Open Guide to London: the free London guide - Differences between Version 5 and Version 4 of Circle Line Clockwise

Contents are identical

Despite the fact that trains travelling on the Circle Line go east then west on their route, or vice versa, staff at Notting Hill Gate persist in making announcements referring to "eastbound" or "westbound" trains. This makes no sense, as Circle Line trains passing through NHG go, at least according to the Tube map, north or south and then east, as NHG is on the western edge of the Circle Line. Therefore, I propose that trains going in the Victoria to King's Cross direction be known as clockwise trains, for the obvious reason. Their counterparts would be Circle Line Widdershins trains. --Earle
