Marna and Sean went for a meal here. This is what they found.

Marna had escargot as a starter. She concluded that snails are odd, and taste mostly of the garlic butter that they're cooked in. Sean had baked Camembert, which was lovely and melty and cheesy, although possibly a bit too filling for a starter.

As a main course we shared an insanely huge portion of steak - 500g filet. We asked for it incredibly rare and it *was* pretty rare. It was also very tender and lovely. Marna is not qualified to comment on steak, from an eating it perspective, but Sean also reckoned that it was very good steak indeed. This came with a big bowl of chips. Marna was too busy eating steak to give them more than a cursory glance, but Sean thought that they could've done with being a bit thicker.

We also ordered a bottle of good-ish claret with the steak, and it was a very nice wine. The wines available are mostly French (unsurprisingly) and there's a good selection.

Prices: Starters from 4 - 10, Mains from 8 - 20. Wines vary from 10 - 40. There's a cover charge of 1 per head (which covers olives and bread and butter - all of which were very good and plentiful) and an 'optional' 12.5% service charge added to the bill.

Service: Was very good, I thought. We were rather late, and so I called ahead to reserve a table. Although we were among the last people in the resturant we didn't feel hurried to leave when we were lingering over wine and talking, which was good.

Marna may have to return here at some point.
