Centre Point

Centre Point

Centre Point is a large office building on the intersection of Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road, [New Oxford Street]?, and Charing Cross Road. It is a useful landmark as it can be seen from most of the surrounding area. It stands on top of Tottenham Court Road Station.

Note that the official Centre of London (as defined by Royal Mail), is not Centre Point, but Charing Cross. This has been so since long before Centre Point was built.

It was built from 1963-1966, has 35 floors and is 117 metres high. The architect was Richard Seifert.

In 1995 it was made a listed building (grade II). It is currently occupied by the Confederation of British Industry.
