This category is for stations where the means of getting to one or more platforms involves lifts (not counting emergency stairs).

The significance of this was highlighted when we had the firemen's strike of 2002, and LT closed all such platforms or stations.

When there is no Fire Brigade cover, London Underground will not operate stations where the only access to the platforms is by lift. Note: access does not include emergency stairs.
