This pub has recently been completely refurbished to turn it into a gastropub/bar/restaurant type of affair. You get table service and everything. |
|

Special seems to be 2.57 going down from there. Also a selection of lagers including Young's own. Spirits also available.( As you would suspect for a pub) |

Is now a gasropub and you can tell from the menu and food. A Veal burger with foie gras tops the lunchtime menu at 16.95. the organic streak burger is about 9. You only get nine chips which will be stacked in a jenga style |
Very good food. Food served till 10pm ( this may be wrong now - [[bob]]). Steak around 10. |

The tuna steak is also very good as is the vegetable medley it comes with. The steaks come with a sauce of your choice. ( pepper always availble. I have also seen carbonara and cordon bleu.) The burger also seems passable even if it does come on foccacia. The chips and dip is also quite good. the dips are a pesto mayo and a very spicy chilli mayo. Thursday Night is curry night. This means there are only 4 items from the main menu available. None of these is the steak. This is bad ( Thai Fish Cakes, Cod & Chips, Mushroom Stroganoff and a salad i think are the options form the main menu. ) Having said this the curry was okay and there is a good deal if you buy three courses.( 10.75 for 3 courses.) |
