The Book and Comic Exchange is a subsidiary of the General Goods Exchange, which takes up a bunch of storefronts along Notting Hill Gate, and as such all their stock is secondhand. I've only been there in search of graphic novels, but their collection of back issues looks serviceable, if not compendious. As for their graphic novels and trade paperbacks, there's plenty of good deals (I recently scored a somewhat shabby copy of the first Love and Rockets collection for two pounds) and the turn-over seems to be fairly brisk so it's worth coming back.

The problems: the store layout is pretty claustrophobic and the graphic novels are at floor level. Also, as with many clearing-house style secondhand places, cleanliness and organization are secondary concerns. But, so long as you don't mind crouching, getting stepped over, and coming home with a stern case of grutty thrift-store fingers, this spot's worth a look.
