An exceptionally good South Indian restaurant in [[Locale Croydon|Croydon]], about ten minutes walk from [[East Croydon Station]]. The dining area is small, so booking is advisable. There is however a downstairs room too. The restaurant has a reputation for spicy food, although your reviewer did not consider it to be exceptionally hot. The menu covers the usual curry-house staples, but goes far beyond this, with a dozen rare or unique specials and many other dishes. Vegans were particularly well-catered-for (apparently it used to be a vegan restaurant). All the meat was halal. Portions were neither generous nor meagre.

Prices are far from extortionate: ~6.50 for a curry and 2.50 for a starter/dessert (Oct '04).

One of their chefs has just won Croydon Curry Chef of the Year 2004 and supposedly the Owner has won it several times before.
