One of the best football teams in the UK, alas, and subject of the novel Fever Pitch.
They first formed in South London, at the Woolwich Arsenal. This is the reason they have a cannon on their crest, and is why they are known as the Gunners. (Arsenal fans are often called Gooners, amongst other things.) When they moved north to Highbury they dropped the Woolwich from their name. They'll be on the move again soon, but not as far this time. Their new home will be Ashburton Grove.
