Archway station was previously named "Highgate" and was the terminus of the north-east branch of the [[Northern Line]]. Like most deep tube stations, there is no step-free access at Archway. The station is located under the Archway Tower, which is quite possibly one of the most depressing pieces of architecture in all of London. The surrounding area is nicer than its reputation would lead you to believe.
