Central London is well served with banks, and you are rarely far away from an ATM. Further out, you may have problems finding a machine away from town high streets. Be careful of standalone ATMS located in newsagents and some pubs, as these are likely to charge you a fee. They should have a notice indicating to if this is the case, but ask if you're unsure.
