Zipangu is an interesting place. Try to get a seat downstairs in one of the holes for a rather cosy location. Their sushi and sashimi is the best in Chinatown.
The upstairs is quite small and narrow, with tables that would seat maybe 2 or 3 people tucked in around the edges. There is a screen or two to break up the space and provide privacy. It is a little bit squashed-in; the tables are very close together.
The UCL Korean society review says that Zipangu is "famous for good service", and my first trip here seemed to bear this out; I even got brought a cup of green tea while I waited for my takeaway. (--Kake)
Everything on the menu is available as takeaway, at the same price. The large sushi box is 7.80, and is plenty for one hungry person - you get six maki and tuna, salmon, squid, tamago, prawn, and mackerel nigiri. [Price as of May 2002]
The "sushi course" set menu is good value at £13 - you get battered fishcake things, agedashi tofu, miso soup, and a large sushi box. [Price as of May 2004]
