Soho is a small region of central London bounded by [[Oxford Street]] in the north, [[Regent Street]] in the west, [[Shaftesbury Avenue]] in the south and the [[Charing Cross Road]] in the east. It's notable for its narrow streets, restaurants, bars, and nightlife, excellent record shops, and, of course, the infamous red light district, where there are sex shops, peepshows and strip clubs. The red light district for which Soho was previously synonymous is now a far second to the other forms of entertainment in the area including West End theatre productions, art galleries, clubs and pubs. If you go south and cross over Shaftesbury Avenue you'll come to [[Chinatown]]. A number of famous names have lived or currently live in the district including Eric Clapton, the Sex Pistols and Brian Jones. |
