Wembley Park Station

Zone 4 Station / Streetmap Link / Journey Planner

Lines Served

Jubilee Line: west <--- [Kingsbury]? <--- Wembley Park ---> [Neasden]? ---> east
Metropolitan Line: west <--- [Preston Road]? <--- Wembley Park ---> Finchley Road ---> east

Wembley Park is the preferred station for Wembley Stadium and [Wembley Arena]? - not because it is the nearest, but because it is the best-served and has the highest capacity. In fact, modernisation works are currently being carried out to increase capacity by around 70%.

Note that firstly, Metropolitan services are generally quicker into London since they skip all stations between here and Finchley Road, and then again to Baker Street.

Secondly, also note that not all Met services stop here - some fast services to [Watford]?, [Amersham]? or [Chesham]? skip all stations between Finchley Road and [Harrow-on-the-Hill]?... and any that do stop here will skip [Preston Road]? and [Northwick Park]?.

Moral of the story? Get an [Uxbridge]?-bound train if you need Preston Road or Northwick Park... and if you need the other branches, you may need to change at Harrow.

Interchanges

There are cross platform interchanges between the Metropolitan Line and Jubilee Line in both directions.

Neither of the other main Wembley stations ([Wembley Central]? and [Wembley Stadium]? are particularly within walking distance, although all three are near enough to the stadium (especially the station named after it!).

Where To Alight

  • westbound: front of train
  • eastbound: rear of train

Architecture and Points of Interest

As with Finchley Road, the station is open to the sky, as both lines are above ground at this point - but platforms are sheltered from the rain.
