One of the biggest dangers to out-of-towners is not the crime, or the pollution, but the traffic.

We can't say it often enough: Brits drive on the LEFT side of the road !!! Unless you're from one of the very few countries which do the same, vehicles are going to come at you from the OPPOSITE direction than you expect.

And London drivers in particular are very aggressive and really don't expect anyone to step out into the street: they will hold off braking/swerving until the last possible moment, which could mean you have a really bad day.

So, chill out, slow down, LOOK BOTH WAYS when crossing the road, and enjoy your visit.
