Bi Won (Bloomsbury)

Bi Won (Bloomsbury)
Excellent Korean restaurant just around the corner from the British Museum.

We had a large spread of jellyfish salad, fried tofu, fried chicken, barbecue squid, barbecue beef, rice and two servings of kimchee and a pint of lager that came to under 20 each. Food and service were excellent. The "sauced fried chicken" is spectacularly good: fried chicken in a spicy, oniony salsa type sauce.

The usual Korean dishes are there, including beef bulgolgi, spicy soups, lots of squid. Barbecue dishes are cooked right at the table. Most mains are around 9-12, beers are 2.50.

Lunch specials are much cheaper starting around 6 and are great spreads with a main or soup, rice and kimchi all included.

There's an upstairs room with karaoke machine (mostly Korean) that can be booked out for larger groups.
