That could mean two things: (a) draw a line from coordinates (x1,y1) to (x2,y2); define a function d(K) representing the distance from the line of location K (remembering that this is _not_ an infinite line and it'll be Pythagorean if the distance falls outside the endpoints); sort locations by d(K). (This would be fairly easy.) (b) assume public transport, get a best route from A to B, and for each station between them do a concentric search. (This would be slightly harder.)
