Exits
There is a tunnel from just outside the ticket barriers (still within the station) which leads to the various museums, hence the multiple exits shown on the map.
NOTE ADDED OCT 2004 This tunnel is seldom open in my experience. It's been closed all this month because apparently there's sewage leaking into it. To get to the Museums and Imperial College go out the main exit, cross Thurloe Street, turn right and then take the first left (there's an 'Oriental Taverna' on the right-hand side of the road).
It's always open in my experience. I believe it is closed sometimes, perhaps even often, but it's usually open. -- Tom A 2004-10-14
