London Wetland Centre

Overview

The London Wetland Centre, run by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, is a large area of wetland (formerly reservoirs) in the heart of London.

The Centre has a mixture of captive wildfowl from around the world, and wild areas with birds (large numbers of ducks winter there), frogs, lizards and more. Other than being in the Heathrow flight path (isn't everywhere in South-West London?), it's a peaceful and relaxed place to spend a few hours.

In summer the Centre is open late on Thursdays and has a BBQ.

There is a large visitor centre, with a canteen and shop.
