Facilities

{Add lots here, southern commuter people!}

There's lots of good and bad food places (for example, Burger King). There's also a JD Wetherspoon (above WHSmiths) - see the review on Harbottle's pub guide - a branch of Lush, a Thorntons chocolates stall and loads more.

There are two sides to the station; on one side the trains head South East and on the other they head South. There is a small shopping centre upstairs from the South Coast side (via an escalator)besides the shops there are numerous eating venues on the floor above the shops, these are all much nicer than the ones on the concourse.

The best place to meet someone in the Station is Christophers bar and restaurant which is in the Thistle Hotel just off the concourse, it's a bit pricey but it has a nice atmosphere and is away from the madding crowds. There is a pub in the Hotel too and a tea room although this isn't open in the evenings.

Victoria Coach Station

Victoria coach station has coach (for the Americans: "coach" in Britain refers to something like the Greyhound buses) departures for national and international destinations. It isn't in the same complex as the Tube, bus and rail stations, but is about 5 minutes walk south down Buckingham Palace Road. Like bus stations around the world, it's quite a nasty place to hang around in; try not to.
