There's a set meal which is pretty good value - my companion and I ate a two-course meal with plenty of beer, coffees and a shisha pipe for 35 pounds - although the waiters will grudgingly admit the existence of an a la carte menu if you ask nicely. The starters (vegetarian, and possibly vegan) was a beautifully presented plate of hummus, moutabel, harissa and several other mezze with pitta bread. As unscrupulous omnivores, we then had couscous with chicken and merguez. Arabic coffee and mint tea are available, as well as a rather good Moroccan beer.

'''Review by Simon Cozens <simon@simon-cozens.org>:''' (reproduced with permission)

It's worth going to Souk just for the atmosphere alone; the restaurant is dimly lit, cosy, and the decor wonderfully authentic. With tented ceilings, Arabic tiles, and waiters in kaftans and fez caps, it's everything you'd expect a North African restaurant to be.

For vegans, the a la carte menu may be a better option, with a wide selection for starters and mains - not much in the way of vegan desserts, however.

The service was variable; for the most part intimate and friendly, it had its scatty and sometimes brusque moments. All in all, though, an enjoyable evening, with excellent food.
