Large pub/hotel in Wimbledon Village.

Serves very nice food. Main courses are around 8-12 but are of very good quality and while not being excessive with the quantity are not stingy either. The side vegetables are cooked and seasoned just right. The bowl of mash with gravy at (I think) 2.50 looks very good value as a taster. [Prices as of April 2004.]

Beer was excellent - 2.50 for Special.

Square bar which can make being served very hard since the staff can't see all the way around it due to the island of optics in the middle.

Staff are a little too eager to take your glasses after 11.

There is a large non-smoking area at the back of the pub. More than one of us noted how effective it was in being actually smoke-free, as opposed to many non-smoking areas in pubs which just have all the smoke float over anyway. Children are welcome in this area until 8pm, but there is a large notice warning that they are only welcome if they remain seated.
