The Open Guide to London: the free London guide - Differences between Version 3 and Version 2 of Ristorante Belvedere ,W5 1EE

Ristorante Belvedere is an 'authentic' Italian restaurant in a parade of shops on Hanger Lane Gyratory

Restaurant

Food

Extensive and mature classical Itlaian menu overshadowed somewhat by the splendid range of specials which sell out fast attesting to their freshness and appeal, especially the fish. Osso Buco (veal knuckle) was excellent. Fresh seafood looked excellent.

Their dessert trolley was a sight to behold, leave room if at all possible though the starters were equally impressive for those without a sweet tooth or with a larger appetite.

Prices are on the higher side considering the location, but the food and atmosphere once inside warrant them. A three course meal (including some specials) and a bottle of wine came to around 40 per person.

Drink

A good range of wines and some bottled Italian beers.

Service & Ambience

The service was attentive and friendly. Pictures adorn the entrance and bar area celebreties that frequented the establishment, including Minder star George Cole (Arthur Daley) and others.

A traditional atmosphere is maintained throughout with professional waiting which is often lacking from some newer more fashionable restaurants.

Live music is often provided, for example an accoridan player doing the sound track from The Godfather. Surprisingly this added to the atmosphere in a most congenial way that one would have to have experienced first hand. The closest one could describe the atmosphere to be like would be one of the restaurants in Little Italy, NY.
