A cozy local in the middle of a residential area. A free house with six real ale pumps, only Banks's Mild was on tap at the time of our visit, but it was tasty.
The pub is furnished in traditional style, with black-stained beams, horse brasses, beer mats and painted plates on the walls.
There is a small beer garden behind the pub, with a fish pond.
Food is apparently served "at all times", although not when we visited. The menus indicated the availability of basic pub grub at cheap prices. Lunch special of 2 lunches for �5. Roasts on Sundays while available.
