Historical version 3 of Mile End Park (view current version)

Mile End Park is perhaps a unique park in that the residents were so upset that [Mile End Road]? went through the middle of their park that they persuaded the government to join the two parts of the park together.

This park now has a green bridge going over the road which has soil, grass, and even a tree growing on it. There's a photo at http://www.sublimephotography.co.uk/eastendphotos/milendpk/pages/greenbrpan.htm

The Regent's Canal runs alongside the park, and BW towpath permit holders are permitted to use it as a traffic-free cycle route.
