The London Borough of Havering is a [London borough]? in northeast outer London. The borough has a population of 242,200 over 43 square miles. Havering has a higher proportion of residents in white ethnic groups than other outer London boroughs (95.1% - 2001 census). The Indian population is the most significant ethnic minority group in Havering (1.2%).

The London Borough of Havering was created in 1965 by uniting [Romford]? Borough and [Hornchurch]? Urban District and transferring them to Greater London from [Essex]?.

[Romford]? is the main commercial hub of the borough and there is also some industry to the south between [Rainham]? and the Thames, where the A13 trunk road passes through the borough. The [A12]? [trunk road]? also passes through the borough to the north, close to [Romford]?. Large sections of Havering are parkland and half the borough is [greenbelt]? protected land.
