The Open Guide to London: the free London guide

Now mainly the name of a Central Line Tube station, opposite the BBC Television Centre. It takes the name from the buildings of the Great Exhibition held on the site - a dog track existed on the corner of [Wood Lane]? and the A40 for years - now occupied by more BBC buildings.

[Hammersmith Park]? (naturally, in [Shepherds Bush]?) behind the BBC (access Frithville Gardens, or South Africa Rd (?)) includes part of the 'Japanese garden' originally laid out for the exhibition.
