A pleasant square at the eastern edge of [[Locale Chelsea|Chelsea]]. It is the junction of the [[King's Road]], [[Sloane Street]], Lower Sloane Street and Eaton Gate. It is named for [[Sir Hans Sloane]], whose collection gave rise to [[the British Museum]].

Sloane Square is the natural home of the infamous [http://www.sloaneys.co.uk/ Sloane Ranger].

A large [http://www.johnlewis.com John Lewis]-owned department store, [[Peter Jones]], stands on one corner of Sloane Square. There are a large number of shops here and on the King's Road, most of which are quite expensive.

[[Sloane Square Station]] is on the [[Circle Line|Circle]] and [[District Line|District]] lines about 15 minutes from the [[West End]]. The square is served by a number of bus routes (see the PDF [http://www.tfl.gov.uk/buses/spiders/pdf/sloane_square.pdf Spider Map]), including the [[Bus Route 19|19]] to [[Piccadilly Circus]] and [[Tottenham Court Road]], and the [[Bus Route 11|11]] to [[Locale Victoria|Victoria]], [[Trafalgar Square]] and the [[Locale City of London|City]].
